Assistance
League of Santa Clarita continues its proud history of serving our
local communities. Offering membership classifications that fit
the lifestyles of the stay-at-home mom to the business executive
provides effective volunteerism. Listed below are the ways to help
out in the community. All classifications, but the nonmember volunteer,
pay dues and have obligations on chapter projects and fundraisers.
For more detailed information, please contact the First Vice President
of Membership at alsc@email.com.
Voting Member
This
classification is for the individual who is able to attend monthly
chapter meetings (1st Wednesday of each month in the morning) and
can devote a minimum of six hours a month in the chapter's thrift
shop, Take Two.
Nonvoting Membership Opportunities
Professional Membership is ideal for the individual
who is employed at least 20 hours a week, or is a full-time student.
Teachers and executives like this category as it gives them the
opportunity to give back to the community. These members meet
in the evening (1st Wednesday of the month), often going out to
dinner beforehand, and devote a minimum of 3 hours per month in
the chapter’s thrift shop.
At
Home Professional membership is designed for the parent
or guardian of a child who is attending elementary school, or
pre-school, or who has children younger than age six. Staying
active in the community provides the perfect blend of family and
community involvement. The requirements include just attendance
at 4 meetings a year, and working in the thrift shop 6 hours every
three months (at days and times convenient to your schedule).
Associate
Membership is perfect if you wish to be a contributor
to the organization, without the other duties involved. There
are no meetings to attend nor thrift shop hours, unless you choose
to do so.
Assisteens Parent membership is open only to
the parent/guardian of a member of our Assisteens Auxiliary. If
you've encouraged your son or daughter to become involved, why
not help out too! Minimal obligations include no requirement to
attend meetings, and you work in the thrift shop just 3 hours
every 3 months.
Nonmember
Volunteers are welcome to participate in the projects
and events of Assistance League. A nonmember volunteer is an opportunity
for individuals living or working in the Santa Clarita area to
assist the chapter when their time permits. There are no dues
or other obligations of membership. You can help out as often
as you want.
